Tips for Disney Pumpkin Painting

  1. Choose the Right Paint: Use acrylic paint for vibrant colors and durability.
  2. Choose the Right Pumpkins: real pumpkins are great for the season, but a faux pumpkin can be kept for future years. Either make a great base for painting Disney pumpkins. I prefer using a white pumpkin since the colors are truer and require less coats.
  3. Prep Your Pumpkins: Clean the pumpkins with a damp cloth and dry them completely before painting.
  4. Use Stencils: Stencils can help with detailed designs and make the painting process easier for kids.
  5. Seal Your Artwork: Protect your painted pumpkins with a clear sealant to keep them looking fresh all season long.
  6. Hot Glue Gun and Mod Podge: For adding intricate details like Mickey Mouse ears or other 3D elements, a hot glue gun and Mod Podge can be lifesavers.
