Pirate and Princess Weekends have officially begun at Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, FL. Happening now through March 7, 2021, this immersive experience is lots of fun for guests of all ages.

Pirate & Princess Activities at Gaylord Palms

Special thanks to Gaylord Palms Resort for hosting my family and inviting us to experience Pirate and Princess Weekends. All opinions are my own.

Pirate & Princess Activities at Gaylord Palms

Pirate Pool Party

The Pirate Pool Party happens Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 pm at Cypress Springs Water Park. This party includes lots of fun pirate themed music and is complimentary for all resort guests.

Gaylord Palms has two large pools for swimming, plus a water park with various play areas for kids of all ages to enjoy.

Treasure Scavenger Hunt

Orangeblossom’s Shiny Stash Treasure Hunt happens resort-wide at your leisure. The treasure chests are (mostly) easy to spot and carefully hidden around the St Augustine Atrium. Booklets are available for purchase for $9.99 at the Pool Towel Hut. They also come with a fun prize upon completion.

Adventure Kids: Join the Club

Happening Saturdays at 12 pm, 1 pm and 2 pm, you can meet Seth the turtle and Ava the alligator. Join them on a quest as they earn their Goodness Badge and talk about the importance of making good choices. Kids even have the opportunity to talk to the characters and pose for a photo at the end of each show. While also adhering to social distancing guidelines. We watched the show once from our balcony and again up close. My girls loved it!

The Princess Academy

The Princess Academy is a fun, interactive show with singing, sword fighting and also beautiful princesses. Princess Orangeblossom meets the swashbuckling Pirate Princess Sunshine and teaches her how to be a proper princess. This show happens on Saturdays at 1:30pm, 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm.

Pirate Outpost Invasion

This all-new immersive show happens Fridays and Saturdays and puts you right into the pirate action! The three part experience includes songs, sword fighting, and a chance to meet the pirate captain to join his crew.

In addition, everyone receives a delicious butterscotch beverage in a souvenir mug. Upon meeting the captain, guests also receive a pirate certificate complete with a new pirate name. Reservations are required for this experience to provide for social distancing and is $16.99 per person.

Pirate Speakeasy

Guests will enjoy delicious themed drinks, both alcoholic and kid-friendly while listening to pirate jokes and interacting with colorful characters. Available Fridays and Saturdays from 6 pm – 10 pm.

Pirate & Princess Light Display

This dazzling light show happens daily in the St Augustine Atrium. We loved watching this show from our balcony each night.

More Gaylord Palms Activities

If your little ones love animals, they won’t want to miss the bird show and alligator feeding! The Ahoy Matey Bird Meet & Greet happens on Saturdays at 4:30 and 5:30pm, and the Alligator Feeding takes place on Tuesdays & Saturdays at 6:30 pm.

My girls also loved the Wildlife Rescue Experience presented by bubly. This augmented reality experience takes you around the Atrium and lets you pose with life size animals.

In addition, we enjoyed playing in the arcade and exploring the Atrium area. The Atrium has a replica of the Castillo de San Marcos in our hometown of St Augustine, FL. It also has live baby alligators and snakes on display, as well as lots of fun areas to walk around and explore.

Gaylord Palms COVID Restrictions & Safety Precautions

Traveling right now can be a little tricky, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen safely. The team at Gaylord Palms Resort is taking every precaution necessary to ensure a safe experience for their guests including:

  • Masks are required in all public areas at Gaylord Palms Resort
  • LOTS of physical distancing markers and visual reminders
  • Elevators are limited to one party at a time
  • Automated Hand Sanitizer stations are placed throughout the resort
  • Personal Hand Sanitizer Bottles & Wipes provided in each room

Gaylord Palms Room Review

I love that the Gaylord Palms Resort offers accommodations for large families. We had two adjoining rooms, one with a King size bed and one with two Queens. Both rooms had balconies that overlooked the Atrium, a magnificent view! They also had mini fridges which are SO useful when traveling with little kids.

If you’re planning a trip to Orlando, be sure to book a stay at the beautiful Gaylord Palms Resort. Whether you want a weekend getaway or as an add on to a theme park vacation, Pirate & Princess Weekends are a memorable experience the whole family will enjoy.
