Encanto Birthday Party Ideas

Spread the love

Like many children across the world, my daughters are absolutely in love with Disney’s Encanto movie. The music is so catchy and fun, the family elements are highly relatable and the characters are colorful and captivating for audiences of all ages.

With my daughter’s second birthday in February, I knew there was only one theme that would work. In searching online, I couldn’t find many Encanto party supplies, ideas or free printables, so of course I decided to create my own. Check out these fun ideas to help turn your own magical casita into a whimsical party!

Encanto Birthday Party Decorations & Ideas

We chose a favorite local park as the perfect venue for my daughter’s Encanto party. It only cost a small fee to reserve the pavilion area. I came up with a plan to quickly and easily decorate the space using inspiration from the movie.

These white Mexican banners and metallic gold butterflies are both on Amazon and made for the perfect cheap (and easy) Encanto birthday party decor.

DIY Fringe Backdrop on a Budget

I also wanted to create a fun backdrop with vibrant colors for our food table and photo ops. While a balloon arch in fun colors would have looked great too, I avoided a balloon garland because I was afraid the outdoor weather would cause issues. Instead, I opted for a colored fringe backdrop which turned out great!

To create these Encanto party decorations, I cut plastic tablecloths into two inch wide strips and then tied them to a long string of twine. This was a fun activity that my older two daughters both enjoyed helping with.

I already had a dozen foam flowers (from Hobby Lobby) in my party planning stash so I tied those along the top beam using extra twine and then mixed in these purple large paper flowers too. Adding a few sparkly gold butterflies on top made it perfect!

Encanto Table Settings & Centerpieces

On each party table, I used a plastic lace pattern tablecloth (like these), a colored plastic tablecloth (only partially unfolded) and then gold sequin table runners on top. Each table was finished with a gold trey, vase with fake flowers in purple and teal, a printable sign, mini lantern and also a faux cactus. We didn’t do individual table settings because it was quite windy and they would have blown off easily.

I found the trays, flowers, solar lanterns and cactus plants at the Dollar Tree. We also purchased this Encanto set and used a few characters on each centerpiece.

Encanto Party Ideas: Sensory Bins and Other Activities

My three girls LOVE sensory play so I knew it would be a perfect addition to this Encanto birthday party. My two older daughters helped plan these and all of our guests enjoyed playing in them.

We created this Antonio sensory bin inspired by Encanto using two colors of beans, animal toys (from the Dollar Tree) and this Antonio doll. Of course, we added some scoops and tongs for fine motor practice too.

The Isabela Madrigal bin was filled with pink and blue rice (purple would be a great choice too), flowers in bright colors, and a also bucket with shovels. This Isabella doll completed the bin. Here’s a simple tutorial on how to color rice for sensory bins.

We also had a “Mirabel Doodles” section with sidewalk chalk to encourage all of the kids to get creative and draw fun pictures.

Encanto Party Food Ideas

It’s not a party without food and it took a little creativity to come up with these food ideas for my daughter’s Encanto themed birthday. We served tacos as the main dish for everyone to enjoy. Our themed treat section included:

  • Antonio’s Animal Crackers
  • Isabella’s “Grapes That Thrive on the Vine”
  • Bruno’s Vision Sand
  • Luisa’s Power Bars
  • Pepa’s Clouds
  • Julieta’s Healing Cookies
  • Abuela’s Candle Lollipops

DIY Butterfly Encanto Cupcakes

For dessert, I purchased pre-made cupcakes from a local supermarket bakery. I added fun pearl and white sprinkles, these edible flowers and paper butterflies as the perfect Encanto cupcake toppers. They were perfect and SO easy to customize.

Birthday Party Entertainment

The wonderful part about hosting a party at a park is that kids have a playground to keep them entertained. In addition to the play area and our sensory activities, I also hired a Mirabel impersonator for 30 minutes.

She was fabulous and read a story, painted my daughter’s nails (her favorite), posed for photos and also sang happy birthday. It was the perfect addition to our Encanto party celebration.

Best Encanto Dress for Girls

I had several people ask where I found my daughters’ Encanto dresses. They are PERFECT for an Encanto-themed party and my girls wear them non stop for imaginative play ever since. Here are the links to the dresses I ordered for Mirabel, Isabella and Luisa.

Give each guest a custom-made charm bracelet featuring symbolic charms with beads in the Encanto color scheme that represent the gifts of the family Madrigal. These bracelets will remind them of the magical time they had at your party and the importance of embracing their unique talents.

Mini Magic Door Keepsakes

Provide mini decorative fairy doors inspired by the casita’s magical door entrances. These can be made from wood or clay and painted in vibrant colors and inspired by each guest’s favorite Encanto character. They serve as a charming reminder of the Madrigal family’s enchanting world.

Personalized “Encanto” Storybooks

Create personalized storybooks based on the movie Encanto by writing each guest’s name on the inside cover with a sweet message. This is a great way to allow your guests to read the “Encanto” adventure with their favorite characters over and over.

Flower Potting Kits

In honor of Isabela’s green thumb, gift each child a small potted plant along with a mini gardening kit. They can nurture their plants and watch them grow, just like Isabela’s magical flowers.

Magic Wand Craft Kit

Provide each guest with a DIY magic wand craft kit. Include wooden dowels, colorful paint, glitter, and decorative gems. Kids can create their very own magical wands, just like the Madrigal family’s magical abilities. It’s a crafty and enchanting keepsake they can proudly display at home.

Put a twist on the classic “Pin the Tail on the Donkey” game by playing “Pin the Gift on the Madrigal.” Blindfolded guests take turns trying to place a symbolic gift (such as a star, flower, or musical note) on a poster of the Madrigal family. The child who gets closest to the correct spot wins.

Encanto Trivia Challenge

Another great option is a fun trivia challenge. Test the kids’ knowledge of the movie with an Encanto trivia game. Prepare a list of fun and age-appropriate questions about the characters, the casita, and the magical gifts. Provide small prizes for correct answers and crown the “Encanto” trivia champion.

Magical Door Craft Station

Set up a crafting station where kids can decorate their own magical door just like the casita’s entrances cut out of cardboard. Provide various craft supplies like paint, glitter, stickers, and rhinestones. They can take their personalized magic doors home as a party favor.
