Bluey Party Ideas: Throwing the Ultimate Bluey Birthday Party

When my daughter turned 7, she wanted nothing more than a “Bluey Spa” birthday party. Bluey has been her favorite show for ages, so I knew we had to make this day extra special for her and her party guests. If you’re looking for Bluey party ideas for your little birthday girl, I’ve got you covered with everything from decorations to food, games, and even fun party favors featuring your favorite characters.

What is the show Bluey?

“Bluey” is an Australian animated TV show that follows the adventures of a lovable Blue Heeler puppy named Bluey. The show features Bluey, her younger sister Bingo, and their parents Bandit and Chilli. Each episode showcases the importance of imaginative play, family bonding, and everyday adventures. With heartwarming stories and relatable family dynamics, “Bluey” has captured the hearts of children and parents alike, making a Bluey birthday party for girl a perfect birthday celebration theme for your party.

Color Scheme and DIY Bluey Party Decoration Ideas

Bluey colors are (of course) BLUE! We decided on a blue, yellow, and white color scheme with daisies, which was both vibrant and sweet for the ultimate Bluey birthday party. For DIY Bluey party decorations, I found the perfect balance with store-bought items and handmade touches:

  • Backdrop: I love using these triple arches from Amazon. They’re so easy to put together and make an amazing backdrop to fill any party space and match the party theme! I already had white, yellow and blue covers from previous parties so that worked perfectly.
  • Balloons: A balloon garland is a great and thrifty way to decorate for a party. It’s easy to fine Bluey balloons and Bingo balloons both online. Blue and peachy orange balloons added festive flair to my daughter’s party. To really emphasis the Bluey theme I purchased a Bluey foil balloon at Party City. Since I didn’t use helium for it, I actually saved a little on the balloon purchase too.
  • Daisy Accents: We added daisy flowers throughout the space to make it more girly. I loved these Daisy balloons I found on Amazon. They were easy to blow up and were the perfect addition to our ballon display.
  • Table Decor: On the table, I made two Happy Birthday signs featuring Bluey and Bingo. Added blue flowers from the Dollar Tree in milk vases that I thrifted a while back. Lastly, I added my girls’ Bluey playhouse as the centerpiece with a few Bluey figurines. We also pulled out all the Bluey toys and books in a little play area for kids to play with while at the party (and of course played Bluey episodes on TV too!)

Bluey Party Food Ideas

For the Bluey party food, we kept it simple but fun, inspired by the show itself:

  • Pizza and Salad: In the “Pizza Girls” episode, Bluey and Bingo enjoy a fun pizza night, which inspired our choice. Pizza is easy and loved by everyone, while a fresh salad adds a healthy option. Bluey has a thing for salads so that fit perfectly too!
  • Blue Lemonade: Regular lemonade with a few drops of blue food coloring was a big hit for our young guests. It looked so cute and matched our color scheme perfectly. An adult (spiked) Arnold Palmer is a cute idea for this party theme as well. Fun drinks always make a party festive!
  • Treat Table: We had a variety of doggie-themed treats like pretzel sticks, cocoa puffs, Scooby Snacks and then some yummy candy too such as blue lollipops, blue gumballs, and blue sugared gummy candy.
  • Additional Food Ideas: Consider adding Bluey’s favorite snacks like fruit skewers, cheese and crackers, and veggie sticks with hummus. These options are not only healthy but also loved by kids. Of course, you can’t forget a Bluey birthday cake or opt for fun cupcakes with these Bluey and Bingo cupcake toppers. DIY a cake with blue frosting and Bluey figurines on top, perfect for a Bluey Party theme on a budget.

Bluey Spa Activities

The spa activities were a huge success and kept the kids entertained:

  • Facials with Cucumbers: The girls loved feeling pampered with these mini facials. I used soothing cucumber slices and a gentle face mask (blue of course) to make them feel like they were at a real spa.
  • Nail Painting: We set up a nail painting station with a variety of colors. The kids enjoyed choosing their favorite colors and getting creative with nail art.
  • Friendship Bracelets: The kids enjoyed making bracelets, which doubled as a great keepsake. I provided an assortment of beads and strings, and they had a blast designing their own unique bracelets.
  • Glitter Tattoos or Bluey Tattoos: As an additional activity, we offered glitter tattoos and Bluey-themed temporary tattoos. The kids loved picking out their favorite designs and showing them off.

Bluey Crafts

Crafting is always a fun activity at kids’ parties. Here are some Bluey-themed craft ideas to keep your little ones entertained:

Bluey Party Games and Entertainment

We played several fun Bluey party games that kept everyone engaged and happy:

  • Pass the Parcel: Inspired by the “Pass the Parcel” episode, we played a version where everyone won a gift with each unwrapped layer. This way, no one felt left out, and the excitement lasted through each round. This was a fun game that all the kids loved.
  • Keepy Uppy: A simple yet entertaining game using colorful balloons. Just like in the show, the goal is to keep the balloon in the air and not let it touch the ground.
  • “Here Come the Grannys”: This was a crowd favorite! Each kid got daisy sunglasses and headbands, and we had a blast pretending to be Bluey’s grannies.

In addition to these, here are a few more Bluey-inspired games:

  • Musical Statues: Play Bluey’s theme song and have the kids dance around. When the music stops, they have to freeze in place. The last one to move wins a prize.
  • Bluey Bingo: This classic game is a perfect addition to any Bluey Birthday Party. Create bingo cards with different Bluey characters and scenes. The first child to complete a row wins.
  • Treasure Hunt: Hide Bluey-themed toys around the party area and have the kids search for them with kid friendly scavenger hunts. The one who finds the most items wins a special prize.
  • Dance Mode Bluey Dance Party: Inspired by the “Dance Mode” Bluey episode, this game is all about dancing! Play Bluey songs and have the kids dance in various styles. When you shout “Dance Mode,” they have to freeze in their current dance pose.

Party Favors & Ideas for Bluey Party Bags

Each guest at our party received a Bluey water bottle from the Dollar Tree filled with goodies like candy necklaces, a sticky gecko, Bluey stickers, and nail polish. These were not only practical but also a delightful surprise for any fan of Bluey.

It’s not a Bluey-themed birthday party without goodie bags. Favor Bags are always a hit with kids too! To make your Bluey party bag even more exciting, here are some fun ideas for additional items you can include:

  • Bluey Coloring Books: Small coloring books with Bluey-themed pages.
