Best Family Vacation Ideas for 2020

Best Family Vacation for 2020

As we head into the holiday season of 2019, it’s only natural to begin making plans for 2020. As my girls get older, I’m excited for the opportunity to travel with them. Here are a few of the best family vacation ideas for 2020.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

First up is a vacation destination in a galaxy far, far away. Galaxy’s Edge just opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While it may not seem very far, Galaxy’s Edge truly transports you to another world. Everything about this park is fully immersive, including the delicious food options. Be sure to check out the Most Stellar Eats and Drinks at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. If you want a vacation destination that’s out of this world, plan a trip to Galaxy’s Edge.

Travel the World on a Budget

If you want to travel the world, but are on a budget, look no further than Disney’s Epcot. Visit countries around the World Showcase and enjoy inspired cuisine, shopping and entertainment. If you plan a trip to Epcot, be sure to make travel accommodations at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Only a short walk from the park, with a tropical oasis atmosphere, Beach Club is one of the best family vacations for 2020.

Escape to a Magical World

Best Family Vacation, Universal Studios

If Disney isn’t your vibe, check out Universal Studios. Also centrally located in Orlando, FL, Universal Studios offers lots of fun entertainment, especially for families with older kids. If you’re traveling with little ones be sure to read my tips for Universal Studios with toddlers. Universal is home to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and has tons of fun themed areas including Marvel Island, Jurassic Park, The Mummy, Fast and the Furious, Transformers and more. Be sure to check out this Ultimate Guide to Universal Orlando with Families when planning your trip.

An All Inclusive, Tropical Vacation

Best Family Vacation, Disney Cruise

One of the best, all inclusive, stress free vacation options is taking a cruise. Disney Cruises are hailed to be the best and have lots of entertainment and travel options for guests of all ages. If you plan a Disney Cruise, be sure to read these tips for Your First Day on Disney Cruise Line to start your vacation off right. If you want something extra fun and unique, check out the Star Wars, Marvel Day at Sea or a spooky Halloween On The High Seas cruise.

A Day at the Beach

Best Family Vacation, Jekyll Island, GA

A day at the beach is nice, but a week at the beach is best when planning a family vacation. There are lots of Florida beaches, but a favorite is Siesta Key, located near Sarasota, FL. This gorgeous beach location has a laid back, small town feel. With pristine blue water, white sandy beaches and beautiful sunsets, it’s the perfect place to escape to paradise. Another fun beach option is Jekyll Island, GA. This historic island has lots to do for families including Summer Waves Water Park, Driftwood Beach, mini golf, a sea turtle center and more. Read my tips for taking kids to Jekyll Island.

New Zealand Adventure

Best Family Vacation New Zealand White Island Tour

If you’re looking for adventure, New Zealand is a wonderful destination for families. White Island is New Zealand’s only active marine volcano and you really need to experience it at least once. I love this post recapping her White Island Tour by Albion Gould. Exploring an active volcano would be such an incredible once in a lifetime experience.

Exploring Tokyo

Another one of the best family vacation destinations is Tokyo, Japan. Jones Family Travel visited and shared a whole vlog about family friendly things to do in Tokyo. The Digital Museum, animal cafes and Disney Sea look like so much fun. There is something for everyone in Tokyo!
