Cookiebird Ice Cream Bar Review

I took my girls to Cookiebird Ice Cream Bar in Uptown St. Augustine and wanted to share what we thought. Thought‑of as soft serve with a fancy twist!

Adorable Courtyard Charm

The patio is so cute, with checkered walls and umbrellas over stone benches. It felt relaxing and perfect for a warm Florida afternoon. If it’s a super hot day, keep in mind that the shop itself is not very big and has minimal indoor seating in AC. We went in the evening and the weather was fine!

Soft Serve That’s Just Right

They serve classic soft serve including vanilla, chocolate, and swirled chocolate/vanilla mix. It’s smooth and creamy, not overly sweet. Very similar to soft serve that we’ve had at buffets in the past.

Specialty Cones Stand Out

I tried the lavender cone, and honestly? It was so good it may be worth the price. If we go again, I’d probably have my girls stick to regular kid cups or cones for now. The pricey cones made it feel like a special treat. They did put the kids cones in cups which I was grateful for since ice cream melts super fast in this Florida heat.

Toppings & Fun Extras

Cookiebird has fun waffle cones in flavors like matcha, orange creamsicle, and lavender. Toppings include Oreo, graham crackers, sprinkles, chocolate curls, sauces, and more. You can really create your own dessert which my girls loved.

What I’d Do Next Visit

I’d get regular flavored cones or kid sized cups for the girls. Then maybe one specialty cone for me or to share. That way, we keep it tasty and more budget friendly.

Why Cookiebird Stands Out

The soft serve is pretty standard, but the cones and toppings elevate the whole treat. Plus the courtyard is a really sweet spot to enjoy ice cream together.

Before You Go

Cookiebird is at 138 San Marco Ave and is closed Wednesdays. Hours vary, but most days they’re open from noon to 9 PM.

Final Thoughts

Cookiebird is a lovely little ice cream boutique. I thought the lavender cone was worth splurging on, but next time I’ll choose simpler cups for the kids. Still, that courtyard, cones, and toppings made it feel special. It’s a fun stop if you’re in downtown St. Augustine and craving something sweet and memorable.
