Disney’s Bon Voyage Breakfast Trattoria Al Forno Review
Delicious food, fun character interactions and an affordable character dining option, breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno at Disney’s Boardwalk is a must do. Here’s my Trattoria Al Forno review of Disney’s Bon Voyage Breakfast along with some tips to make your dining experience a success.
Where is Disney Boardwalk & How to Get to Trattoria Al Forno
Once you arrive at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, walk down the long breezeway and go down the stairs. The Trattoria Al forno restaurant is approximately three storefronts down on the right hand side.
What to Expect
When you first arrive, check in with the hostess and wait for your name to be called for seating. Once seated, your server will come out and offer everyone fresh Florida orange juice and take your order for any additional drinks (coffee, chocolate milk, Mimosa, etc) and ask whether you want the fruit cup or greek yogurt parfait as your starter.
While you wait, they serve a delicious themed pastry selection in a cute frying pan. We loved the Tangled inspired sun cookie and the Little Mermaid themed clam shell pastries. Shortly after, your server will ask for your entree order. It took us about 30 minutes to receive our meals, but we didn’t mind as there was plenty to keep us entertained while we waited.
Where are the Characters?
The characters walk around and meet with each table while you dine. There is not a formal backdrop set up and there are NO Disney photographers. Be sure to bring your own camera! The lighting is also really dark so make sure to use your flash or the pictures won’t come out. You are only able to meet each character once so be sure to get all the pictured you want when they stop by. Also, it should be noted that the characters come around individually so you won’t have a photo op with the couples together.
Each interaction was great and we enjoyed meeting both princesses and princes. They did a formal announcement for each character while we were there which was really fun to see. Rapunzel and Flynn danced together which was absolutely adorable! They also did a character parade (happens once per hour) for all the kids to follow and dance with the characters together.
Where to See Rapunzel at Disney World?
There are plenty of places to see Rapunzel at Disney World. In addition to this character breakfast, you can meet her at Magic Kingdom inside Fairytale Hall. You can also see her tower, paintings and lanterns at the restrooms in between It’s A Small World and Haunted Mansion. Both her and Flynn Rider can be seen in the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom, though to meet Flynn Rider Disney World, this breakfast is your only option. All of the princes meet with the princesses during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Review of Trattoria Al Forno Disney Breakfast Menu
Our food was delicious and presented in a very fun and creative way. I ordered Rapunzel’s Tower of Pancakes Trattoria Al Forno and it was so yummy! Keep in mind the price for an adult is all inclusive…meaning if you want to order an extra side of bacon or a chocolate milk and a coffee, do it! Only alcoholic beverages are added for an extra fee. It’s definitely worth it to eat a filling meal and get the full value for your money. Gratuity is not included in the total price and Passholders get a discount so be sure to mention it upon ordering if you have a pass. As you can see below, my little princess loved the pancakes too. She liked the powdered sugar sun off and ate nearly as much as I did!
